Scuffed Uno Rules

The Basics

Scuffed Uno is an online multiplayer card game played with a custom deck. The deck consists of 108 cards (plus some optional custom cards). The deck is divided into 4 colors (red, blue, green, yellow) and each color has 25 cards. Each color consists of 1 zero card, 2 each of 1-9 cards and 2 each of the action cards (skip, reverse, +2). There are also 4 wild cards and 4 wild +4 cards.

At the start of the game each player is dealt 7 cards from the deck and the top card of the deck is placed face up on the discard pile in the middle. Each player takes turns playing a card from their hand going in the current direction of play until a player has no cards left in their hand.

Playing a Card

When it is your turn to play a card you must play a card that matches the color or number of the top card of the discard pile. If you do not have a card that matches the top card of the discard pile you must draw a card from the deck. If you draw a card that matches the top card of the discard pile you may play it immediately. If you draw a card that does not match the top card of the discard pile you must place it in your hand and end your turn.

You may also always play a wild card or a wild +4 card regardless of the top card of the discard pile. If you play a wild card you may choose it's color when you play it.

The Cards

0 - 9 - These cards are colored and numbered. They have no special effect when played and must be played on a card of the same color or number.

Skip - This card is colored and has a skip symbol on it. When played the next player's turn will be skipped. This card must be played on a card of the same color or symbol

Reverse - This card is colored and has a reverse symbol on it. When played the current direction of play will be reversed. This card must be played on a card of the same color or symbol.

+2 - This card is colored and has a +2 symbol on it. When played the next player will be forced to draw 2 cards and their turn will be skipped. This card must be played on a card of the same color or symbol.

Wild - This card is black and has a color square symbol on it. When played the player may choose it's color which will be used for the next player's turn. This card may be played on any card.

Wild +4 - This card is black and has 4 colored squares on it as well as a +4. When played the player may choose it's color which will be used for the next player's turn. The next player will also be forced to draw 4 cards and their turn will be skipped. This card may be played on any card.

Special Rules

Stacking - If a draw card is played, and the next player has a card with the same symbol, they can "stack" the penalty, adding it to the current penalty and passing it to the next player. A +4 cannot be stacked on a +2, or vice versa.

Force Play - If a player draws a playable card, they must play it.

Draw To Play - If a player has no playable cards, they must draw cards until they find a playable card.

Jump In - If a player has exactly the same card (both number and color) as the top card of the discard pile, they may play it immediately, even if it is not their turn.

7-0 - Every time a 7 is played, the player who played the 7 must trade their hand with another player of their choice. Every time a 0 is played, all players pass their hands to the next player in the current direction of play.
